Benefits of Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a remarkable, gentle therapy which resets the body to heal itself. It is an extremely gentle therapy, it is considered appropriate for anyone from pregnant women to newborn babies, the frail, and the elderly. It can assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon each individual’s capacity to heal. No adverse side effects have been reported. Bowen Therapy may offer relief from pain, long-term injuries and illnesses, improved health and flexibility, improved sporting performance, relaxation, and emotional and mental well-being. Most of us have had an injury in our lives and as we age, our body pays for the life we've lived - in sport, work, leisure. Bringing the healing benefits of Bowen Therapy into your life, you realise how much better you can be in all aspects in your life.

After the Bowen Session

There are a number of factors that seem to interfere with the effectiveness of a Bowen Therapy session.  Exposure to extremes of temperature is one. This would include having a long hot bath or putting a hot water bottle or wheat bag or even an ice-pack on an area that has been treated. Other forms of complementary therapy should not be undertaken within a week, either before or after a Bowen session.  The Bowen Technique is very subtle, so the work needs to be “nursed” a little in the days after the session. During this time, the body is still responding to and integrating the moves.  Drinking plenty of water, taking moderate exercise, and avoiding extremes of movement will all help in this process of recovery and repair. You will be given an information sheet on how to look after yourself after a treatment.

Bowen Technique

A Bowen session will involve a number of elements, beginning with a detailed case history.

A Bowen session is very relaxing. It is mostly performed with the client laying on a treatment table, in order to encourage a sense of deeper relaxation. Other procedures may be undertaken with the client sitting in a chair or standing up.

In fact, it is possible to treat a client in almost any position – in a wheelchair, laying on one’s side, or even propped up on one’s back. The most important thing for the effectiveness of the session is that the client is comfortable.

Adult Session $75
Child (under 10yrs) $60
Babies $30

iBlanket

“Burning fat has never been so hot!”

The iBlanket can be used for weight loss and body shaping, detoxing the body and cleansing problems.
It is suitable for people who have Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Sports Injuries giving pain relief and muscle relaxation. It can help with stress and fatigue reduction, increasing metabolism and giving increased energy levels. It is great for post pregnancy and stretch mark reduction.

The iBlanket is like a sleeping bag which has Far Infrared (FIR) panels in them, making the iBlanket 100% FIR, giving you a much more successful treatment than traditional saunas. It feels like a 20-minute session in a warm blanket, but it can release toxins stored in fat cells, promoting circulation and sweating out toxic substances at the cellular level.
There are a few contra-indications for use of iBlanket. Contact Sue to see if you are eligible.
Please shower prior to your session, wear loose light clothing, bring water and a towel.

$60 per session
